Miter Saw Product Description
This Bosch 5312 12-Inch Dual Bevel Slide Compound Miter Saw comes with a 25 1/2 inch base which offers the user power and versatility to allow for a variety of sizes of material. Cast sliding extensions are built in for a total length of 40 inches as 4 1/2″ sliding fences which allow for easy setting up of bevels and crown molding capabilities for cutting. With 120 volts and 15 amps, this miter saw offers scales which are easy to read, which makes for accurate cuts. Quick, repetitive cuts are easy with an electric brake that allows the saw to be quickly stopped and then started again. Precise angles can be cut with the wedge-and-slot miter detent system which allows for consistent angles each time.
Weighing in at over 60 pounds this is a heavyweight saw with five stops, but it is still portable to the jobsite. This corded electric saw comes with a 60 tooth carbide-tipped 12 inch blade, dust bag, wrench set, and a clamp. Bosch offers a limited one year manufacturer’s warranty, as well as the option of a 30 day money back guarantee.
Product Reviews from Real People
“I purchased this saw to install crown moulding in our house. I has gotten a lot of use lately as we are also installing quarter round moulding as well. My wife is getting pretty good with this thing. One draw back is there is no laser guide which would have been nice on this unit. I purchased an aftermarket one that is marginal.. even with new batteries. Also digital readout would be nice. The saw was square right out of the box and is solid. I like the dual buttons in the handle, for us lefties. Overall I give it a 5 star rating.” By Ludvig Knagenhjelm
“Very precise, easy to adjust, super smooth cuts and operation, a great tool. Looking forward to years of happy use.” By A. Timblin
“This saw is awesome! I have used other brands and they all were good but the Bosch engineers did their homework on this one. The big fence and etched in scale is nice an visible. The slide, movement and locking mechanisms work perfect. I got right to work with this machine after a quick familiarization. It has a lot of power and its cuts are precise and perfect. I added the Laserkerf and I can’t be happier. I am not a fan of the blade mount lasers. If you want a product that is engineered well, well built (cast) you won’t go wrong with this machine. It will last a lifetime. I am an avid Dewalt fan but my 3 or 4 Bosch tools have yet to let me down!” By flyguy
“I’ve had this saw since 2007, 7 years it is a marvel of engineering, the miter control for the bevel is right at your fingertips, and it has balls galore she feels like a V8 Fod, bulletproof . My only problem with the saw, and the reason I purchased another slider is that it’s just so darn heavy and why I must give it 4 starts. For shop purposes this saw wins hands down, but for a contractor on the move it’s a bear to carry, it’s a very BIG saw, and I have cursed it many times while carrying it from the truck to the jobsite, it really requires 2 people. But once she is set up you feel like you are firing a 50 cal.” By Dejan
“In a production hardwood shop this is one of the busiest tools we own. So far it’s been as good as advertised. It’s big, it’s powerful enough, and as accurate as you make it. It does require some calibration right out of the box but we consider that business as usual. Great tool at a good price.” By HO

So Is it Worth The Investment?
The Bosch isn’t a cheap saw, but it’s damn sure a good one, and having spent a LOT of money on tools over the years, I’ve learned that you’ll seldom regret buying the best you can afford. This saw is well-made enough that I won’t be surprised if it outlasts me (not that THAT’S such a high bar), but if for some reason it doesn’t, it will be at the top of the list of contenders for a replacement.
